Fellowship in Oslo (Non-fiction literature)
NORLA has the pleasure of inviting foreign publishers and editors of non-ficiton literature to apply for our fellowship program, which this year will take place in Oslo from June 16 – 19.
NORLA, in collaboration with the Scandinavian Center at Tbilisi State University (TSU), is organizing a translator’s seminar for students and translators in Tbilisi.
On the first day, students will receive an introduction to Norwegian literature and participate in a workshop translating a text from Norwegian to Georgian. Elisabeth Beanca Halvorsen will participate as an author from Norway.
On day two, we will focus on collaborative translation and translation from Georgian to Norwegian. This part of the seminar is organized in collaboration with the Norwegian Association of Literary Translators (Norsk Oversetterforening).

NORLA administrates the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ scheme for travel grants for authors and lecturers who will visit institutions of higher learning abroad where instruction is given in the Norwegian language.
Publishers, agents and translators abroad and in Norway can apply to NORLA for subsidies for sample translations.
