Fellowship in Oslo (Non-fiction literature)
NORLA has the pleasure of inviting foreign publishers and editors of non-ficiton literature to apply for our fellowship program, which this year will take place in Oslo from June 16 – 19.
As part of the preparations for Norway’s role of Guest of Honor in Cairo in 2024, we organized a seminar for established and potential translators into Arabic in early summer this year. The goal was to encourage more people to translate into Arabic. The seminar was very successful, with many enthusiastic participants, and on Thursday, October 12th, we are organizing a follow-up seminar for the participants. Speakers are Anette Garpestad from Cappelen Damm Agency and translator Mohammad Habeeb.

NORLA administrates the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ scheme for travel grants for authors and lecturers who will visit institutions of higher learning abroad where instruction is given in the Norwegian language.
Publishers, agents and translators abroad and in Norway can apply to NORLA for subsidies for sample translations.
