Fellowship in Oslo (Non-fiction literature)
NORLA has the pleasure of inviting foreign publishers and editors of non-ficiton literature to apply for our fellowship program, which this year will take place in Oslo from June 16 – 19.
NORLA aims to recruit more translators of Norwegian Literature. We now invite interested participants to apply to take part in our seminar for new translators, which will be held in Oslo from April 23-26, 2025.

The seminar is organized in light of the inaugural awarding of the new annual Fosse Prize for translators of Norwegian literature. On Thursday, April 24, German translator Hinrich Schmidt-Henkel will receive the Fosse Prize 2025 for his translations from Norwegian. On the same occasion, the first Fosse Lecture will be delivered by French philosopher Jean-Luc Marion.

NORLA administrates the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ scheme for travel grants for authors and lecturers who will visit institutions of higher learning abroad where instruction is given in the Norwegian language.
Publishers, agents and translators abroad and in Norway can apply to NORLA for subsidies for sample translations.
