Fellowship in Oslo (Non-fiction literature)
NORLA has the pleasure of inviting foreign publishers and editors of non-ficiton literature to apply for our fellowship program, which this year will take place in Oslo from June 16 – 19.
Minister of Culture and Equality Lubna Jaffery is visiting Beijing and Shanghai in connection with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cultural exchange and export between Norway and China. From NORLA, Andrine Pollen will participate.

On Saturday, 30 May, an event will be held at the library in Beijing designed by Snøhetta. Authors Simon Stranger and Kristin Roskifte will take part, and both will also participate in a number of additional programme events and book launches during their stay.
An exhibition of illustrations from Norwegian children’s books will also be presented at the residence of the Norwegian Embassy in Beijing. The exhibition will feature one work by each of the 49 illustrators who participated in the Norwegian Guest of Honour exhibition at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair in April.

The author will participate in a launch event for the Chinese translations of the children’s books Kokotopia 1–4, illustrated by Helena Lindholm. In addition, he will take part in two events related to his novel Keep Saying Their Names (original title: Leksikon om lys og mørke).

NORLA administrates the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ scheme for travel grants for authors and lecturers who will visit institutions of higher learning abroad where instruction is given in the Norwegian language.
Publishers, agents and translators abroad and in Norway can apply to NORLA for subsidies for sample translations.
